International Day 2017
Over 300 members descended on Shrewsbury to celebrate Midlands annual International Day. The peace candle was lit by Eirlais, Midland Chair and then Judy and Muriel gave the audience an insight into WAGGGS and the Topaz project to Russia. There were stalls to look and quizzes to do. After lunch they were treated to International food tasting, making turks head woggles, decorating faberge eggs, changing a paperback book into a hedgehog and strawwork to design. The day ended with a good old sing song and day time taps. More photos to follow

Braunstone's Grass heads
Braunstone Trefoil Guild in Leicestershire took part in the county's centenary challenge by making grass heads. They had fun moulding the sawdust into face shapes and planting grass seeds into the top. After a month the results were amazing. Well done ladies.
By now you will have seen the Midland calendars for 2018. The A4 size will be on sale for £5 at the International Day.
Members of the Midlands executive attended the National Trefoil weekend at the Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire. The centre is set in beautiful surroundings, ideal for stimulating the thought processes. The weekend's aim was to suggest possible programme ideas for use from 2019.
