Bookings for the Trefoil Guild Walking event 2027 open on Thursday 1 October at 10.30am. If the booking link is showing as no places available, contact the office in the first instance as not all places have been allocated to website bookings and there still may be places available.

Where:    Dunfield House, Kington, Herefordshire, HR5 3NN Dunfield House is situated in 15 acres of gardens and parkland in a rural location near Kington in Hertfordshire, close to the Welsh border. We have sole use of this beautiful site.

When:     Monday 6 September to Friday 10 September 2027. Arrival from 2pm on Monday and departure by 2pm on Friday. 

Cost:   £400 which includes a £50 non-refundable deposit.

 A deposit of £50 is payable on booking.

 The balance of £350 is to be paid by 1 May 2027. 

Transport:  The nearby railway stations are Hereford, Leominster and Knighton There are local bus services from Hereford and Leominster that comes through Kington, which is 2 miles from Dunfield House. There is plenty of onsite parking for cars at Dunfield House though it’s always nice to share lifts. 

Accommodation: The accommodation is in hostel-style rooms with bunk beds and some single beds. Preferences for lower bunks can be made but cannot be guaranteed. 

There are sufficient showers and bathrooms but there are no en-suite facilities. Bed linen is supplied; you need to bring your own towels. 

A full kit-list will be provided nearer the time.

Catering:      This event will be fully catered for including cooked breakfast, a packed lunch and a two-course evening meal. There will also be refreshments available mid-afternoon. Our first meal together will be dinner on Monday evening and our last will be lunch on Friday. Food allergies, intolerances and special diets can be catered for. 

Accessibility:      Due to the nature of this walking holiday may not be suitable for members with mobility issues. Please contact the Trefoil office if you need further information about whether this holiday is for you.

Walks:   There will be 3 days of led walks by our team of walk leaders. These walks will range from approximately 8km to 20km or 5 miles to 12.5 miles. The nature of the landscape is undulating but not high with some short, steep sections. Participants should be able to walk 8km, that is 5 miles, comfortably. Participants will be able to sign up for their chosen walks the evening beforehand. 

The aim will be for most walks to start from Dunfield House.

Monday afternoon and Friday morning will be for small groups self-led exploration with short walks from Dunfield House or Trefoil members may choose instead to explore the house and gardens of Dunfield House, take a calming spiritual healing walk around the labyrinth, have a game of outdoor giant Jenga, draughts or chess, or sit quietly on the seats breathing in the fresh air and view. The self-led walks include several of the ‘Historic Kington’ walks. 

Dunfield House also has several facilities including a large meeting room for us all to enjoy the evening programme, lounges to relax in, and a heated indoor swimming pool which we will have regulated access to. 

Booking:    There are 65 places available.  Walkers only please. Bookings open at 10.30am on 1 October at 10.30 am using the booking link below to reserve your place and pay your deposit online by debit or credit card.
