World Thinking Day 2026 - Friendship

As we approach World Thinking day this weekend, I am sure like me you are thinking of friends near and far and those who are no longer with us.

2026 celebrates 100 years of Thinking Day, and the theme this year is ‘friendship’ which sits at the core of all we do in Trefoil. Trefoil members extend the hand of friendship whatever they do and wherever they go.

Thinking Day is of course the birthday of Olave Baden-Powell, the first World Chief Guide, and Robert Paden-Powell, who was the founder of the Boy Scout Movement. It’s a time to celebrate what a special and unique organisation that we belong to.

Every year WAGGGS has a World Thinking Day fund – the fund started in 1932 when it was pointed out that birthdays and celebrations normally involve the giving and receiving of gifts. So, if you want to continue the tradition of raising Thinking Day funds for WAGGGS I am sure your collection will be appreciated. World Thinking Day Fund. Money received by WAGGGS helps to fund programmes, training and leadership opportunities for girls and young women.

Have a wonderful Thinking Day whatever you do.

‘Friendship is something you’ll always cherish

and something you can always count on’
