Ceredigion is a long county, stretching from Cardigan in the south, the home of the very first Eisteddfod, nearly to the Dyfi estuary. As a county it contains a bit of everything, beaches, farmland, hills and mountains. Aberystwyth is home to the National Library of Wales, Aberaeron has its harbour and picturesque early Victorian (not Georgian) buildings. Inland you can pan for gold in the hills, visit the silver mines, or buy some Welsh gold jewellery in Tregaron. Ceredigion boasts two University colleges in Aberystwyth and Lampeter.
Trefoil-wise, there are two Guilds in Aberystwyth and Cardigan.
