UK Programme Adviser gains her Gold Voyage Award

Morna Macdonald, UK Programme Adviser and former Programme Adviser for Scotland, and a member of Berwickshire Trefoil Guild, Scottish Borders, has achieved her Gold Voyage Award. She was presented with her certificate and badges at a celebration dinner to mark her success which was attended by members of Berwickshire Trefoil Guild as well as Girlguiding and Trefoil Guild friends and mentors.

Morna started her Bronze Award in 2020 during lockdown and completed it in 2021. She continued with her Silver Award finishing it in 2022. Then she started on the Gold Award.

For the Gold level, Morna did research into some new areas of interest to her. For Service, she was appointed the Scottish Trefoil Guild Programme Adviser and arranged meetings as well as a craft weekend for Trefoil Guild members. She studied Scottish culture and language, following an Open University course, and learned new Scottish Country dances in the Myself category.  For Teamwork, she became a committee member for Friends of Girlguiding Scotland which hosts two events per year to fundraise for Girlguiding Scotland.

She decided to do something for her grandchildren when she undertook a New Skill. She learned how to make patchwork quilts. Finally, for Explore My World she compiled a travel journal of two trips to New Zealand, one to North Island and the other to South Island.

This has been an amazing journey for Morna which has now culminated in this fantastic
achievement of her Gold Voyage Award. Congratulations!
