County Tyrone's grand day out

County Tyrone consisting of 4 Guilds Cookstown, Clogher, Dungannon and Omagh rounded up 24 members and headed to Hillsborough Castle for what turned out to be a truly memorable day.

Blessed with fabulous weather, the group had the opportunity to explore the beautiful gardens in all their summer glory, taking in the stunning colours, peaceful walks and picturesque surroundings. Inside the castle, the group were treated to a fascinating tour of the magnificent State Rooms and royal residence, learning about its rich history and important role in public life.

The group then saw an exhibition of some of the Royal dresses before heading through more of the gardens, for an amazing leisurely lunch in the main restaurant. It was truly a very relaxed day with many members staying on after lunch for a natter and a wee refreshment or two before heading home.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable day filled with friendship, interesting stories and shared memories. The visit was facilitated through the Royal palaces community access scheme, so was Free.
