Trefoil “Training” Weekend at Waddow Hall
Thirty-one Trefoil Guild members from Cheshire Border, Cheshire Forest, Wirral and Stockport gathered at Waddow Hall for a much anticipated “Training” Weekend filled with fun, friendship and new experiences. Arriving from 4pm on Friday, everyone settled in before enjoying a lovely evening meal. At 7.30pm the group came together for Fairground Games, a lively and light hearted way to get to know one another. The evening continued in the lounge, where members relaxed, chatted and began forming new friendships.
Saturday began with an optional early morning walk, followed by a tasty cooked breakfast. The first activity sessions offered a brilliant mix of challenges and creativity, including axe throwing, archery, escape rooms and a wide range of crafts such as diamond art, pyrography, sun art, decoupage paper fans and delicate paper roses. The Region International Advisor led an interesting session on ‘International at Home’
After lunch, groups headed into a drizzly Clitheroe for a murder mystery trail, though the weather certainly didn’t dampen anyone’s spirit. Halfway round, the Chocolate Works Café provided a welcome treat, serving rich dark hot chocolate and delicious cakes.
Saturday evening brought a relaxed Sip and Paint session, complete with prosecco and mocktails to help the creativity flow. Janet Taylor from the Waddow Hall Trust joined us to share exciting updates about the future of Waddow.
Sunday rounded off with more crafting and escape rooms, followed by heartfelt thanks to the planning team and Waddow staff. A tasty roast dinner and pudding marked the perfect end to the weekend. For some it was a first visit, for others a return — but everyone left looking forward to coming again.
