Meet The Trefoil Guild - Aylsham Norfolk
Aylsham Guild started on the 2nd November 2012 with ten members.
By January 2014, numbers had grown to 23, one short of an old fashioned Brownie Pack number. Sadly, we have never quite reached twenty four even now.
The current meeting place is the Methodist church hall in Aylsham. We meet on the second Tuesday in the month at 7.30
The first year, when the promise was updated, we all made our new promise at the Sticky Earth café in Cromer. That year as always, we encouraged members to attend County events, they helped in the kitchens and then progressed to organizing and leading craft sessions. Over the next few years, we took on more duties for the county including helping with the Norjam Trefoil Guild Café, which was hard work, but we learnt so much from the experience. It was great fun too.
We have had representations at all but one County annual review and regional events we have had members attending Essex and Thetford. We are hoping we will have some attend this year's National in Scarborough.
Aylsham guild Holidays are always exciting times. Getting together in different places. Past holidays have included 2015 London staying at Pax lodge, 2016 York staying at the Holiday Inn. Both these holidays went very well and in 2018 members joined in the County run holiday at Potters Leisure centre and hotel.
Hautbois Activity Centre has been our " happy place" for our annual holiday weekends in recent years. First, we went in February but now we try to keep to March thus avoiding Thinking Day celebrations. Hautbois hosted us even during the BEAST FROM THE EAST. So glad we got there safely and the weather cleared a little to help us get home. At our weekends we usually follow a theme, and they have been everything from Badge work, Stars, Motivate, Butterflies, sheep and bees. This has Included dressing up as Leprechauns, full evening wear for cocktails and learning to weave. We have also shared the house with a Brownie Pack and the NATIONAL EXECUTIVE, which was an honour. They kindly gave everyone special badges to mark the weekend, a real treat
