Hautbois weekend away

36 intrepid members from Cambs West, including a friend from Devon, and another from Kent gathered at Hautbois House in Norfolk on a sunny Friday afternoon ready to challenge themselves with a weekend of activities.

For some, just managing to leave the comfort of home for a weekend with others whom they had previously only spent a few hours a month at guild meetings was a big step. Others pushed themselves to try a range of activities: fencing, canoeing, climbing, the 100m zipwire, or the obstacle course wearing a blacked out mask, relying on your partner to get you under, over and through each piece of equipment, as well as team building, a few crafts and a trading game.

Some people had imagined that a Trefoil weekend away would focus on crafts, and leisurely chats over coffee and cake for them this was a culture shock! However every person pushed themselves to try something new.

What a great experience, with new friendships being formed along with lots of laughter and a few tears of emotion and pride when nervous members achieved something new.

Everyone agreed that they can't wait for the next Cambs West adventure!
