Trefoil member helps a Brownie Unit and loved it
One special member of Bridgemary and Rowner Guild in Hampshire East, has, on three occasions this winter with more to follow in the new year, visited local Brownies (at their invitation) to talk about when she was a Brown Owl for a badge they were doing. They really loved it and have virtually adopted Jean! They enjoyed her visits so much that she is now going to teach them campfire songs from her day. It was a real act of service from Jean to today’s girls and she loved it as much as they did! |
The guild chair had a phone call from a Brownie Leader asking if any member of her Guild could talk to her girls about Guiding in the last Century, making them all feel rather old!! The challenge required the girls to ‘step into the shoes of an early Brownie’ and have a go at a ‘time travelling activity’! Jean offered to do this and couldn’t wait to plan a meeting for them just as she did when a Brown Owl herself. |
