In October many Guilds from Cornwall met at St Petroc’s Church in Padstow for their Annual Friendship Service, followed by a wonderful lunch at Rick Stein’s Restaurant. During the service candles were lit for King Charles 3rd, Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, and all Trefoil members. The focus of the service was on Friendship, something which all Trefoil members appreciate within their Guilds. At the end of the service, members renewed their Promise and then had an amazing lunch at Rick Stein’s restaurant. Many thanks to Rosemary Howells and Daphne Anderson for organizing such a lovely day.

Chris Grint looks beautiful, modelling the amazing coat which the Guild created when they took on the Knit for Peace challenge. They knitted it for the St Petroc’s charity.

Members of Burwell and Linton Trefoil Guilds joined in this year’s Burwell Carnival.  The theme of the parade was ‘transport’.  So, they all donned their riding gear and jumped upon their sturdy steeds – hobby horses. 16 groups joined in the parade all representing different modes of transport – roller skates, hot air balloons, trains, penny farthings, and a most impressive Viking longboat to name but a few. It was a very hot day and we were very grateful for the bottles of water being passed out during the parade.  When the parade came to several halts we entertained the crowds with some fancy dressage steps!  However, we were very pleased to arrive at the field and were able to take off some layers of clothing. All in all a very good day.  The following week we appeared in two local newspapers.
