The first of two summer breaks at Netherurd was held at the Garden House in early July. The theme of "On a Mission to be Spectacular" was to fit in with the Senior Section centenary and their Spectacular theme. Lots of activities were available including assembling a jigsaw as well as movement ("I'm a little teapot"), outside activities ( again involving tea), craft activities, skill activities and of course lots of fun and laughter.
One extra special event was a visit from the Earl of Wessex who was visiting Netherurd to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. While he was there meeting young people who are presently involved in the scheme he opened the new "Village" Campsite with its wooden houses and its village hall. Trefoil Guild members were glad that his morning break had been arranged to take place in the Garden House. Five members of the organising committee met the Earl but in true Trefoil Guild fashion the other members present were there to see him and were delighted when he took time to speak to them before being transported to his next appointment by helicopter.
The "Misison to be Spectacular" will be in the main house at Netherurd and will take place in early August
