In February Kent Weald held a very successful and well attended Thinking Day Service at the UR Church in Maidstone, where we welcomed Sarah Little, Region Chairman and afterwards a light lunch was provided giving everyone an opportunity to meet with Sarah and friends from other guilds.
Also during February guilds helped and also held Thinking Day celebrations with their local girlguiding units or their own guilds.
Paddock Wood was invited to join in centenary celebration of a local guide unit.
Guilds continue to have speakers and topics include talks on the Galapagos Islands, a local Donkey Sanctuary, Animal Trust and the Mission Aviation Fellowship
Kent Weald guilds have support their local units in a Jumble Sale and fund raising at a local church. A ‘Stitch in Day’ has been planned. Outings have included theatre trips and ten pin bowling.
At our well attended Annual Review we were able to hand over four boxes of used postcards to the speaker of the Mission Aviation Fellowship who followed it by a very informative presentation of the charity. During the afternoon two Guides, Lizzie Adams and Lucy Morgan, spoke about their international travels. At this meeting we unfortunately said goodbye to our president Dr Connie Garrett. Connie was presented with a Trefoil thank you badge. Click here to return to Kent Weald page
