We have had four more Bronze Voyage Awards which is wonderful and they plan to go on to the next level. Our Chairmen and Committee lunch earlier this year was a great success and an opportunity to get to know each other better and exchange ideas.
Unfortunately, Whitstable Guild closed with the death of their Chairman but they have amalgamated with Herne Bay.
There were many Thinking Day events including a service at St. Paul’s Folkestone organised by that Guild. Our AGM is on 7th May when the County Secretary is retiring having served 3 County Chairmen – she will be greatly missed, especially by me! Our speaker is giving a talk on ‘The Queen’s Bodyguard’ as that was his job.
Each Guild have been asked to do a small fundraiser for a new International Fund we are opening to enable us to help Senior Section girls who are going abroad. We often are asked to support them and this hopefully will enable us to do better than we have in the past.
There are varying plans in Guilds to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday – a good excuse for a party and plenty of tea and cake! Most Guilds are out and about enjoying the improving weather.
