get involved

Get involved in an exciting programme of activities, challenges, outings and more. Choose what works for you, what skills you want to learn, and what you bring to the table.

give support

give support

Find a way to support causes you care about or give back to your community. You can do this at a local level, or with support you can grow this wider in your county or at a region or national level.

find friendship

Trefoil is a place to make new friends, connect with others, and be part of a wide network of members across the UK and overseas. Bring a friend, or find friendship today at a Trefoil meeting or event.

get active

Take this opportunity to get actively involved with all sorts of new challenges, inside or outside. We have individual programme challenges and the chance to earn badges too.

To become a member, find your local Trefoil using the map below, and follow the steps to apply.

Trefoil membership is open to all, as long as you are aged 18 or over. As a place to find friendship and get involved, you can be flexible with how Trefoil works for you. You don't have to be a member of Girlguiding or Scouts to be a member of Trefoil but you can be if you would like. To be a member, we ask that you agree to support the aims of our organisation:

  • To keep alive among members the spirit of the Girlguiding and Scout promises and laws
  • To carry that spirit into the communities in which members live and work
  • To give practical, financial and moral support to Girlguiding and Scouting

Being a member brings lots of benefits and opportunities at local, county, region, and national levels. You can find out more about these through our quarterly magazine, The Trefoil, which is exclusive to Trefoil members. You can also meet other members and join our Trefoil family in our private social media groups, just for Trefoil members.

Not all of our Trefoil Guilds meet in person every month. Some are online only, some are hybrid, some are made up of members who live in different parts of the UK, and we have lots of specialist interest groups that you could join alongside your Trefoil.  We have several online only Trefoil Guilds, including our Internet Trefoil Guild run via a closed Facebook page. To find out more information, you can always get in touch.
