G L W Guilds have had a busy start to 2016, with Lunches, visits to the Theatre, ten pin bowling, talks, visits to an Art Gallery, Ragged School Museum and holding their AGM's.
12th March found many Trefoil Guilds helping with GLW County Day, Twickenham served tea/coffees and lunches for the Guiders attending the County Training Day. With many Trefoil members participating in 3 sessions for Trefoil Members; A talk and demonstration on MR. One Guild held a 90th birthday party for one of their members, The Ukrainian Guides sent her their best wishes, they have very fond memories of the Trefoil Guild from their first visit to this country.
Our AGM on the 9th April was very well attended, Cheam Guild put on a great Lunch and Cheam also sold cards for the Heyswood Fund. £48.00 was raised, a raffle was held to help the cost of entertainment." Reminiscence Road show, The Questors Theatre, Ealing". We had a group of actors reading stories, singing songs, and doing little playlets all about children during the Second World War. All the stories were true and mostly seen through the eyes of the children of the time. It was excellent entertainment we all sang along with them.
We said goodbye to Muriel Dunn, she retired as Chairman at the AGM and was presented with a voucher, vase and plant from all the Guilds.
