Members of East Yorkshire County celebrated the Queen's 90th birthday at their County Camp at Guideacres held from July 13th -15th. On the first day some of us enjoyed trying our skills at archery or going for a walk. The following day, those of us who were camping invited our non camping guild members from East Yorkshire to share in our celebrations. We decorated hats, played games and had a wonderful tea party. Kate Holroyd of Bridlington Guild made and decorated a superb birthday cake which was cut by our Region Chairman, Jackie Dickinson.
In the evening we had a campfire. A really enjoyable few days - despite all the aches and pains that we campers felt when pitching our tents.Jackie reminded us that 70 yrs was the 'new 50' !! although it didn't seem like that to some of us. Thanks also go to Doreen Skiven who as County Chairman organises this event each year and to Kate, Pauline and Jean of Bridlington Guild for the wonderful food they helped to provide.
