• Centenary Flower Beds successes in Essex South East

  Four Town Councils in Essex South East have risen to the challenge by planting Flower beds to celebrate the Guiding Centenary in their towns and reports of all the flowerbeds have been published in the local newspapers.

• A Trefoil Mountain Top Moment

  Last week 50 members from the eight local Trefoil Guilds in Essex South East enjoyed their first County day out when they accepted the challenge that had been issued by Liz Burnley, Chief Guide Girlguiding UK, to enjoy a Mountain Top Moment somewhere in the world during Centenary Year which celebrated the start of Girlguiding.

• Anglia Region Trefoil Member becomes a Plinther

  At 3-00am on the 27th July an 84 year old Gwynneth Pedler, who started her guiding in Manor Park, East London and was a founder member of the Maidenhead Trefoil Guild and now a member of Oxford City Guild, spent an hour on the top of the empty plinth in Trafalgar Square.

  Helen Knight, a Basildon Trefoil Guild member & and leader of 5th Basildon Brownies, recently took part in fire walking and raising over £500 for the St Luke’s Hospice in Basildon.

  Last Saturday 9th May the Region held their Trefoil Gathering and AGM at Burwell hosted by Cambs East. We had a great day and were lucky with the weather.

• How Anglia Changed The World

  On behalf of Harlow Trefoil Guild I thought you might like to see a photo of Cystal (Essex West County Bear for 2010) sitting on top of some of the hats which we knitted for Save the Children. We are a very small Guild of 15 people who have been knitting like mad and eventually completed and sent off 400 hats along with a cheque for £50 which we raised by running a coffee morning.
