• Cruising the Manchester Ship Canal Cruise

  On Saturday 26 June 2010 seventy members and friends from Guilds on Merseyside cruised down the Manchester Ship Canal from Liverpool Pier Head to Salford Quays. The ‘Snowdrop’ was full to capacity with 386 passengers on board.

  Girlguiding North West England celebrated World Thinking Day with an arts festival at The Floral Hall, Southport on the 20th and 21st February 2010.

• Joint Centenary Launch Party - Wigan & Wigan West Divisions

  We heard the noise first – laughing, chattering, scampering; then we saw the Brownies excitedly grouping together, Leaders counting heads and collecting equipment then filing up the drive to be ‘ticked off’ as each group entered the Bispham Hall Estate to start the celebrations for the Centenary of Girlguiding UK.

• A ‘Mountain Top’ of a day!! Girlguiding Lancashire East - Celebration 100.

  At Waddow Hall over 2000 girls including Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Young Leaders plus Leaders and Trefoil Guild members braved the elements for a “Mountain top” of a day. Amongst the activities were Parties, Ice skating, Drumming, Circus Skills (held in a real Circus Top tent), Cheer leading.

• St Helens Girlguiding Express Launch!

  On Sunday 6 September 2009 St Helens Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Trefoil Guild members celebrated the centenary aboard a charter steam train to York. There were five dedicated carriages for Girlguiding which the girls decorated with centenary logos and bunting.

• Adventures in Amsterdam

  Four members of St Helens Trefoil Guild together with the County Commissioner and her sister completed the Girlguiding North West Region International Challenge ‘Adventures in Amsterdam’ on Saturday 25 July 2009.

• Bikers at rally help Trefoil charity appeal

  On July10 over 500 Harley Davidson Bikers from all over the UK and Europe arrived at Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club for their annual rally, which was also their 60th Anniversary Rally.

• Blakewater Guild Put A Sock In It!

  In May fifty members of the Blakewater Trefoil Guild, Lancashire East, took part in Put a sock in it – Crisis charity evening.

• NWE Region Air and Share Day 4th July

  The event, held at Penwortham Girls’ High School Preston, was organised by Tricia Wilson, Region Programme Adviser with 53 members attending. The day began with registration and coffee followed by an official welcome from Joan Ford, Region Trefoil Guild Chairman.

• Ulverston and Kent Lune at Waddow

  Ten members from Ulverston and Kent Lune Guilds spent 2 nights in the Ranger's Cottage at Waddow in May. A great time was enjoyed by all and we were lucky to have super weather.

• North West England Region Annual Gathering

  The County of Cumbria South was delighted to host and welcome 265 Trefoil members from all across the NWE Region. The event was held on a lovely day in a beautiful location on Saturday 13th June at Lakes School, Troutbeck Bridge, Cumbria.

• On A Helicopter Mission.

  On Saturday 30th May Kent Lune Trefoil Guild held a Garden Party as part of its “Changing the World” on-going fundraising effort for “The Pride of Cumbria” air ambulance helicopter.

  Forty four members from 10 counties enjoyed a well organised few days of fun, laughter and friendship in this lovely old house and beautiful grounds.

  On Friday 15 members from 3 Trefoil Guilds from the County of Cumbria South, Duddon, Windermere and Kent Lune, visited the “Pride of Cumbria” Cumbria’s own dedicated Air Ambulance Service.

• How North West England Changed The World

  2 March 2009

  We are BURNAGE Trefoil Guild and prior to Christmas we decided we would participate in the Changing the World Project. We spent a meeting looking at the suggested projects. One of our members is hearing impaired and brings her hearing dog to the meeting and as we have members who had recently completed level 1 British Sign Language we decided that this would be an ideal project to pick.

• Jodrell Guild Make a Difference!

  Jodrell Trefoil Guild in Cheshire joined Girlguiding Goostrey Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section units for a SING FOR CHANGE 'carols with a difference' at Christmas.
