Londonderry City Trefoil Guild found themselves in possession of a centenary Treasure trove when they were given a small brown case by Mrs Lucy Eaton. The case had belonged to her late mother-in-law, Mrs Edith Eaton. Both Lucy and Edith have had a long association with Londonderry City Girl Guides.

The case contained a unique archive of hundreds of photographs, press cuttings and minute books of the Londonderry City Girl Guide Association from its inaugural meeting in Londonderry Guildhall on 23rd September 1915.

To celebrate the Centenary of Girlguiding UK the Trefoil Guild members decided to mount an exhibition in the Central Library. Mrs Lucy Eaton opened the exhibition in the presence of the Mayor, local Scouts, Guides and Leaders, past and present, and members of the Trefoil Guild.

Thinking Day proved busy for the Trefoil Guild members as, following the opening of the exhibition and a celebratory lunch, they joined the rest of the Guiding family, Scouts, parents and friends at a Thinking Day Service in the Guildhall.
