- Banstead sort card for the Woodland Trust
BANSTEAD Trefoil Guild decided they would like to help change the world and on behalf of the Woodland Trust collected, from schools, residential and nursing homes, friends and families, over 150,000 Christmas cards for recycling. As a result, in partnership with the National Trust they will be planting at least 20 trees on the North Downs near the County camp site, Jordan Heights.
Mid Kent Trefoil Guild collected Christmas cards on behalf of the Woodland Trust from the villages of Staplehurst and Marden. There were collection points in the libraries, churches, health centre and guide centre. We were able to take 49 boxes full to TK Maxx at Maidstone, estimating this to be in excess of 30,000 cards.
